Well summer is over and the school year is soon upon us. We in the business studies building are gearing up for the upcoming year. One of the biggest changes we will have this year is that Kerry Stepanek, our administrative assistant for a number of years has resigned. We are in the process of searching for a replacement for her.

Our summer activities have varried. Linda has traveled and done consulting work for Gallup, Dave worked with a firm in the local community for 5 weeks in addition to continuing to recruit his incoming tracksters, Jesse was back and forth from Indiana where he spent most of the summer in graduate school at Anderson University working on his Ph.D. I was between Hillsboro and McPerson getting ready for school and working with my accounting friend David O'Dell in his accounting practice.

We received some encouraging news as Koch Industries, in particular Flint Hills Resources, is interested in coming to campus to visit with our business majors. For those of you who are alums, you know that it is unusual for companies to come to campus to interview and look for talent. We are looking forward to their visit in early September.

If there are others of you who would be interested in stopping by to talk to students and gather resumes for your firms, please feel free to contact any one of us.

As for upcoming needs, we are attempting to offer a video production class this spring. Jesse will be teaching it. In order for us to offer it, we will need to purchase somewhere between $7,500 to $10,000 worth of hardware, cameras, and software. If you know of any one who might be interested in becoming involved in this project, please contact us at either normh@tabor.edu or business@tabor.edu.
