This week's focus is on Human Resource Management. Professor Kroeker reports, "We are studying compensation and to use different compensation systems and performance rewards to stimulate productivity. We are also continuing to work on group projects. The projects consist of HR audits of a real firm. Each group is serving as consultants to that firm (mythically) and trying to see if they can make suggestions to the business for improvements in the area of human resource management. The projects will be presented at the end of the semester to the class and also to the chosen firm. "

At the end of the project, business students will have a piece which can be included in their business portfolio. The portfolio project is an ongoing gathering of pertinent business class documents and major projects that each business student must compile before graduation. Students compile the portfolio along the way during their years in the department and faculty members review and approve the submissions. Each business student must submit a completed portfolio to receive a passing grade in Business Policy & Ethics, our department's capstone class. For more information about the portfolio project, please contact us at business@tabor.edu.
